Why we are so special……?
Wijitha K. De Zoysa Jayathilleke, a fourth generation Landed Proprietor and Planter, possessing 40 years of experience of Dassanayake Walauwa Plantation pioneered to change the traditional method of Cinnamon Processing and to introduce the first ever state of the art, standard certified, Model Cinnamon Processing factory of the Island registered with the Sri Lanka Spice Council was established in 2005 on a concept of Wijith to supply Standard Certified Cinnamon to the International Market requirement.
As a very special feature, our own, cinnamon products processed under FSSC 22000 Certification are fully enriched with Flavour; Pungency; Colour, Aroma and Quality.
Furthermore, Owing to his professional devotion, a species of Pepper, termed ‘Panniur’, has been successfully cultivated, in a systematic manner as an inter-crop in the fertile Coconut plantations of our Organization. This cultivation has been chosen as a Model Plantation for Sri Lanka, which facilitates workshops for keen planters to educate themselves, and gather knowledge regarding the cultivation of Coconut and Pepper.”
Our products, that is, fresh, high quality and aromatic Pure Ceylon Cinnamon (Processed and packed under FSSC 22000 – FOOD SAFETY SYSTEM CERTIFICATION) and other Spice products are Branded and Exported under “DWP”.
We also undertake to package our products under your “Brand name” in accordance with traceability.
To fulfill the requirements of the International market, it is our intention to supply Standard Certified, Pure Ceylon Cinnamon products, under traceability to avoid undue mixing of normally processed, uncertified Cinnamon products with standard certified Cinnamon.
Also we intend to encourage other standard certified Cinnamon producers who followed the Cinnamon processing procedure of our own, the first ever Standard certified Model Cinnamon Factory of the Island, by providing them with our supportive guidance and supervision enabling them to produce standard Certified Cinnamon and to supply us under traceability.
