Long lineage and heritage of Dassanayake Walauwa Plantation in Nape, Kosgoda, Bentara Wallallawita Korale of Galle District in Southern Province of Sri Lanka (then -Ceylon) continues for hundreds of years. The present successor of this lineage is Mr. A.D. Wijitha K. De Zoysa Jayathilleke, Managing Director of the organization hails from fourth generation. This family business will continue to grow under the fifth generation management.

Few centuries ago, the establishment comprising of Coconut, Rubber, Paddy, Cinnamon, and Spices were originally started by Late Senior Mudliyar W. D.  P. M. A.  W. Dassanayake,   the Great   Grand Father of the present Proprietor/ Managing Director, Mr. A.  D. W .K de Zoysa Jayatilleke.  The former Late Mudliyar later handed over the properties with the management to his Son-in-Law, Late Mr. A. D. L. de Zoysa Jayatilleke who was also a responsible British Government Official. In 1944, the properties gifted to his only Son, Late Mr. A. D. P.  A. de Zoysa Jayatilleke, a British Government Official, the Managing Director, who trained his son, Wijith and guided him for safeguarding of the valued Industry and gifted him with the hereditary Ancestral Walauwa, the Plantation with the management in 1978.                

While he was schooling in Colombo and as requested by his late father, he endeavoured to embark on the assignment, who having realized the valued mission of his late father, and the true value of his ancestral Walauwa Residence and Plantations; he came to reside at the Walauwa Residence.

Thereafter, he took a keen interest in constructive management and its improvement, thus adhering to his own modern productive concepts within the framework of GAP and his first ever GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000:2005 and FSSC 22000 certified Model Cinnamon Processing Factory was established. The establishment is progressing in perspective of achieving the Fair Trade Certification in the near future.
